TUBE TO FITTING JOINT LEAKAGE
  Possible Causes   Remedy
1) Flare has embedded burrs, dirt, grit, etc. 1) Replace and reflare tube.
2) Severe scratches or indented weld seam. 2) Replace and realer tube.
3) Flare has crack. 3) Replace tube.
4) Fitting does not have a 3600 line of contact. 4) Replace and/or reflare tube.
5) Tube is not properly aligned with fitting. 5) Rebend tube for proper alignment
6) End of fitting has severe nicks, scratches, chatter marks, or other imperfections. 6) Replace fitting.
7) End of fitting is severely deformed. (fitting is too soft or was overtightened.) 7) Replace the fitting. Tighten to the proper specifications.
8) Fitting seat is not concentric with threads. 8) Replace fitting.

PORT TO FITTING JOINT - LEAKAGE AT PIPE PORT
  Possible Causes   Remedy
1) Improper sealant or no sealant was used at assembly. 1) Remove fitting. Apply correct sealant, and retighten to specification.
2) Threads are galled. 2) Replace fitting.
3) Fitting screwed too far into the port (port opened up or boss cracked.) 3) Replace components.
4) Threads are severely nicked. 4) Replace fitting.
5) Fitting loosens when system reaches operating temperature. 5) Tighten fitting while at operating temperature. (NOTE: This is NOT recommended if port is in a cast housing. When the system cools down, the housing will crack.
6) Seals initially, but vibrates loose. 6) Incorrect fitting installed; replace with correct type fitting.
