Application Symptom Possible Cause Check For

Rolling contact Noise Condition of Bearing Worn or brinelled bearing
  High BearingTemperature Over greasing Too frequent application grease bearing packed too full.
    Starvation Insufficient application frequency.
    Incorrect Product Incorrect base oil viscosity. Deficient load-carrying ability (EP quality)
  Excessive leakage Seals Mechanical damage. Incorrect installation.
    Over greasing Too frequent application of grease excessive amount applied.
    Incorrect product Grease too soft for application or softening in services.
    Incompatibility of grease. Admixture of greases.
  Frequent bearing replacement. Excessive wear Insufficient load-carrying ability (EP) of grease to handle shock loading starvation.
